Take a Coastal Tour around Gower | Visit the Islands of Lundy & Flatholm | Travel the Seas around Swansea & South West Wales

Coastal RIB Tours is taking a sabbatical for 2007!

Due to ever increasing commitments to our commercial clients and Power Boat Schools etc, we will be running a very limited number of tourist trips this year.

In addition, the loss of the outer pontoon (due to damage) has resulted in having to embark and disembark passengers in the Marina. This means that we have to negotiate both the Marina lock and the Tawe lock on our outward and inward journeys which can take up to 40 minutes or more, each way! It can be frustrating and boring for passengers. We do not wish our customers to have anything other than a fantastic time on our trips, the lock situation can result in a poor start and finish to the day!

Accordingly, any tourist trips that we carry out this year will be in association with our colleagues at www.gowerexplorer.co.uk who are running a full schedule of trips from their base at Knab Rock car park, next to Verdi's cafe, at Mumbles. Please contact them directly on 07810 407007 for details of their trips.

For 2008, we are planning to have a new vessel which should be just as fast as our RIBS, but will have wheelhouse accommodation for the crew and all 12 passengers. This will open up new horizons for us and our clients, enabling us to undertake extended trips, in greater comfort, especially in search of wildlife & birdlife such as Dolphins, Basking Sharks, Turtles, Whales and some of the more unusual birds such as Wilson's Petrels and the rarer Shearwaters. We know that all of these, and many others are have been recorded in the Bristol Channel. Roll on 2008!

In the meantime, I would like to thank my clients for their patronage over the last 4 seasons and for those who I have an email address, I will keep you informed of progress on the new vessel. If you would like to be added to my email newsfile please send me your email address to: chris@coastalribtours.co.uk. My email list is not passed onto any other organisation, whatsoever.

Take a trip with Jim Phillips of Gower Explorer, you will find it most enjoyable, entertaining and informative. We might even fit in some Lundy / Ilfracombe trips with him.
